Everyone loves ribs, right?  This simple spareribs recipe is sure to get you ready for fall and get your mouth watering.  The maple chipotle glaze gives them just the right amount of sweetness and spicy and is sure to have you wanting more!

Ingredients

  • Pork spareribs, 9 lbs
  • Sugar, 1 Tbsp.
  • Chili powder, 1 Tbsp.
  • Cumin, 1/2 tsp
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Maple syrup, 3/4 cup
  • Chipotle chile, 1 piece
  • Adobo sauce, 3 Tbsp.
  • Ketchup, 1 Tbsp.
  • Dijon mustard, 1 and 1/2 Tbsp.
  • Cider vinegar, 1 Tbsp.

Instructions

  1. Prep the grill. Clean the grill and preheat it to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Make sure all the coals are placed on one side and the other side is empty or have your heat deflector handy.
  2. Make the rub. Mix sugar, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Pat the ribs with the spice mix.
  3. Grill the ribs. Now, start placing the ribs on the grill with the bony side down in the empty area of the grill. Cover the grill and open the vents (if any). Wait until the meat browns and turns tender. This whole process can take an hour to an hour and a half.
  4. Mix the glaze. In a bowl, mix the pure maple syrup, chipotle chile, ketchup, adobo sauce, vinegar, and mustard until they are well-combined.
  5. Brush the meat with the glaze. Open the grill and brush the top face of the meat with the glaze. Cover and wait for 2 minutes. Open the grill and brush again. Do this until the glaze sticks on the meat.
  6. Final touches. About 15 minutes after touching up the meat with the glaze, open the grill, remove the meat, and brush again with the remaining glaze. Let the meat cool down for a couple of minutes before cutting in half and serving.
