Smoked Strawberry Crisp

Crisps and cobblers are easy to make and even easier when made in the smoker! This recipe for Strawberry Crisp takes only fifteen minutes preparation. Then tucked into the smoker to cook while you’re eating your meal. When it’s done the topping is perfectly golden brown and the strawberries are sweet and bubbly! It’s an easy dessert that will but a tasty twist to any meal!

Ingredients

Filling

  • 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • A pinch of salt

  1. Preheat Your Hasty Bake: Set up your Hasty Bake grill for indirect cooking and heat to 350°F. Add a handful of wood chips for that perfect smoky flavor.
  2. Prepare the Strawberries: In a large bowl, mix strawberries with granulated sugar, 1/4 cup of flour, and vanilla extract. Transfer to a cast-iron skillet.
  3. Make the Topping: In another bowl, combine oats, brown sugar, remaining flour, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Assemble the Crisp: Spread the oat mixture evenly over the strawberries.
  5. Bake: Place the skillet on the Hasty Bake grill, close the lid, and bake for 30-40 minutes until the top is golden brown and the strawberries are bubbling.
  6. Enjoy: Let it cool slightly before serving. Top with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat!
